Stepping into his assigned quarters, Nick stowed his stuff. Sitting by the laptop provided him, he typed in some commands and called up the files of the two men already assigned to SG-10.

Walking in, Nick sat on his bed and thought over his encounter with Lewis and Connor in the mess hall. Connor didn't say much, and he carefully concealed his emotions. Not much to go by on him. Lewis, on the other hand, was trying to get his own way, and while he did try to cover it up, I might have to keep an eye him. But as for combat abilities, I'll just have to wait and see.

Noticing that there was a message for him on the laptop, Nick got up from the bed and checked it out. So, the team has a historian. Now I just have to think about my own problem. How much do I want that XO position, and how much do I care about SG-10. The Majors' file indicates he's capable, but I've seen other majors like him who have screwed up.
Maybe I could go on our first mission as CO and check him out. If he does good, then I'll go for the XO position, assuming it's still available.
Sitting at the computer, Nick kept trying to make up his mind. Maybe I should just go for it. Goodness knows that I've commanded for a long time, and it may be time to let some of the younger guys step up. Only thing is, I've done this before and it's bitten me in the ass. Why is it that I can never make up my mind when I can think about things?
Screw it, let fate work things out this time. And with that, Nick left his room for the General's office.
